NYFW: J.Crew Spring 2013
via Style.com
Favourite looks from J.Crew SS2013 at NYFW. View the whole collection here. Loving the pastels, the prints and the small punches of colour pop. Some of the prints and textures particularly on pastel remind me of DVF's show last year - perhaps that's why I love some of these looks so much.
Duchess in Prabal
via Daily Mail
KMidd rocking one of my favourite looks from Prabal Gurung last spring - this collection was just divine; the prints, the purple and the textures - what's not to like?

Coveting: just a nail
Juste un Clou by Cartier. You can view the entire collection here. Design is by Aldo Cipullo, who was also behind the iconic Love bracelet (still waiting to receive this from the love of my life). The industrial-inspired piece is available in white, rose, and yellow gold, and some with diamonds. The above is my favourite, and a gorgeous birthday present.

Coveting: Proenza
via Eva Chen
Proenza Schouler colour block cap-toe pumps available here. Love this description on Shopbop:
"Fluid metallic accents gild the heel of these sleek, feminine Proenza Schouler pumps. Composed of nylon and accented with a patent leather heel cap, this pair mixes textures to striking effect, with a pointed matte toe cap and mirrored acrylic stiletto heel. Leather sole."
Vintage Carrie
via Daily Mail
Love this shot of SJP wandering for real estate in NYC. Vaguely reminiscent (though updated!) of the last scene of A Women's Right to Wear Shoes, the episode where Carrie has her shoes stolen at a party.
A great happiness
"She believed a great happiness
awaited her somewhere, and for this reason she remained calm as the days flew
by."

Coveting: The Etta
via JCrew
Love, love the Etta by J.Crew. Such a fashion want this week. Thank goodness they ship to Australia now.
myPod: Higher Love
via YouTube
Love this cover of 80s classic, Higher Love (originally by Steve Winwood) by Irish folkster, James Vincent McMorrow - he's awesome. I also love "We Don't Eat".

And I can smell summer coming on
via my blackberry
"And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer."
— F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
I've posted this quote before, but I couldn't resist once more. This week has brought back the sparkle and the sun to Sydney - but what I have loved the most is that ever so slight sweet fragrance with balmy undertones in the air - the vaguely, heady reminder just under the breeze in the evening that spring is near. It has stopped me mid conversation, walking home many a night this week to just soak it up - rarely does something make me so very happy.
Life is sometimes a movie
via YouTube
David Pogue, New York Times technology writer made this super cute fake movie trailer, a "thinly veiled version" of their love story, to show to his now fiance and their families right before he proposed. You can read a little more about it here. The trailer is gorgeous but his lady's reaction to it (filmed by a secret video camera), is just gorgeous. As Siegal said: I dare you not to tear up.

Coveting: straps and suede
via The Outnet
I feel like the title of this post may sound kinkier than intended. I always did love this A. Wang bag and now it's back in stock at The Outnet.
Skinny love, heavy talent
via Youtube
This a favourite song for many of us, so beautiful. But this version, from this very young lady - well, it's just so very beautiful seeing talent like this. I'm loathe to post an X-Factor clip, but just, wow. The second best thing about this clip (after her singing), is the look on the judges' faces when each of them simultaneously realise that they can't sing anything like this. The worst part of this clip is when Ronan Keating gets up on the table and quite frankly, interrupts.

A whole lotta good
I normally don't post quirky, crafty things but I saw this shared on FB by the delightful Cassie, of Elevate Vitality (whose page you should really check out btw, for her gorgeous recipes and helpful naturopathy tips).
Anyway, I thought this was sort of adorable. In the words of the bloggers over at Homestead Survival: "Start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. On New Years Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year." Kinda a fun idea to remind of us of all the good stuff!
