Wanderlust: 20 places in the world you must see

Swiss Alps in Autumn; photo: Robin Halioua via Airows

Feeling restless?  I am.  For some world wandering inspiration you MUST check out this beautiful list from Airows of 20 places that will make you want to run around the globe.

My top 5? (Aside from the Swiss Alps, above - ok, and basically the whole list.)

And, last but not least - the Stairway to Heaven which hopefully I'll get to do with my loves, Lucy, Anna and LG in April.  Aloha, Hawaii.  Photo: Mark Payton

Woollahra streets

via SP

Heavily missing these Woollahra streets this month.  I love this time of year in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and that gorgeous purple - vibrant and lilac all at the same time.  Thanks SP, for making me thoroughly homesick.

Breathe it in

Feeling a little fuzzy this weekend, but this image is so vivid you can almost breathe in that lavender and inhale away all the madness.  You know I love me some deep purple.

And I can smell summer coming on

via my blackberry

"And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer."

— F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

I've posted this quote before, but I couldn't resist once more.  This week has brought back the sparkle and the sun to Sydney - but what I have loved the most is that ever so slight sweet fragrance with balmy undertones in the air - the vaguely, heady reminder just under the breeze in the evening that spring is near.  It has stopped me mid conversation, walking home many a night this week to just soak it up - rarely does something make me so very happy.

Divine mornings

Stunning Aquabumps shot by Eugene Tan.  For those non-Sydneysiders who haven't heard of Aquabumps, you must check out the gallery online for some beautiful morning photos of Bondi.  Simply breathtaking!

Falling in...love with Melbourne

It pains me to admit it, the Sydney stalwart that I am.  But I'm falling in love with Melbourne.  Its wide streets, narrow lanes and city architecture fill me with a New York sort of nostalgia.  The coffee shops, the wine bars, all with a definite undertone of serious cool.  I've been taunted with the Economist's "most liveable" survey win of late, and I'm starting to come undone.  Even the men are better looking.

And I can smell summer coming on...

It may be drawing to a close, so here are a few shots from a sparkling Aussie/Sydney summer so we can breathe in the last weeks of heat and sunshine.  Lindsay - this is for you!
