Speaking of: shoes, men's (summer) shoes

There is a faint smell of spring in the New York air this week - with a few days of 57 degree weather it's getting all our hopes up, and killing me softly in the process.  I long for a Sydney summer and am so sad I missed out to a trip to Cali this week because of work.  Lucky I can stare at these Rivieras and think about hot they'd look on all the sharp men I know.  Unfortunately, the photo doesn't do these justice, but my immaculate brother in Sydney has been wearing these for a while and I DIG them.  Boy has style.  Order them on Mr Porter, here - just in time for a NYC summer.  (Ok, it's still a while away but it's coming.)

Best in cotton, mesh slip-ons they sometimes perk up the colours, but the navy blue is a classic for summer.  Check out their whole range available on Mr Porter at the moment, here.

Speaking of flowers

via my (embarrassing) blackberry

Love these Anniel Soft shoes from Attic.  Made by ballet shoe manufacturer Anniel, they were originally "designed as shoes worn by street artists during their performances, particularly soft and suitable to the movements thanks to the special rubber sole."   I fell in love with these last summer.  You can't get these anymore at Attic, but there is a glorious new collection available here.

Art deco flats: Ivy Kirzhner

Absolutely adoring these Ivy Kirzhner flats, available here.  The collection is inspired by "the Art Deco designs so intrinsically reflective of Manhattan’s architectural grandeur."

Beautiful insanity

via Forward

There are no words.  Spike embellished wedge in black pewterby Giuseppe Zanotti available here.

Coveting: Proenza

Proenza Schouler colour block cap-toe pumps available here.  Love this description on Shopbop:

"Fluid metallic accents gild the heel of these sleek, feminine Proenza Schouler pumps. Composed of nylon and accented with a patent leather heel cap, this pair mixes textures to striking effect, with a pointed matte toe cap and mirrored acrylic stiletto heel. Leather sole."

Vintage Carrie

Love this shot of SJP wandering for real estate in NYC.  Vaguely reminiscent (though updated!) of the last scene of A Women's Right to Wear Shoes, the episode where Carrie has her shoes stolen at a party.

Garden party pink

Queen Elizabeth's Garden Party at Buckingham Palance via Go Fug Yourself

So, I want to love this on her.  But the colour is wildly distracting for me.  Odd, because it's such a pancake of a colour that I can't understand how it would be distracting.  Still, the point is that it's less Jil Sander Spring 2012 than it is Anne of Green Gables/Laura Ashley without a print.  I liked it much better when she wore it here, and the light seemed to catch the colour better.  Also, I know she likes those shoes, and fashion media (actually any media) applaud her for wearing the same things over and over, but dear god I hate those shoes.

In search of the perfect summer shoe - one that gives me height, a little sex and a lot of stability.

The woman who lived in her shoe

Deciding what to take when you're packing is always a little difficult.  But travelling to two different climates, even more so.  With the 7-day NYC forecast dropping as low as 14 degrees, and Miami (b*tch) up to 28 degrees with a wedding in between, never has packing been so confounding.  I try to travel light, but...trying to decide between a shortlist of Christian, Jimmy, Sergio, Rupert and Marc is tough.  And I haven't even added boots to this list.

Kissing mice

Was just wandering along Queen St with the lovely Lizzie (decked out in weekend Marni - no surprises there!) and saw these delectable little flats at Quincy.  Love, love, love.  I'd love to wear them come spring with tailored white shorts, a crisp shirt and tan legs.  Now I just have to restrain myself.
